Myths are defined as widely held but false beliefs or ideas. Relationships have a lot of myths, but it would be a daunting task to list and explain them. So today, we’d be exploring five “commonly uncommon” myths in romantic relationships. Let us begin!

MYTH 1: SOULMATES, A.K.A “THE ONE”

I’d be a comfortable thousandaire if I had a dollar every time I heard someone say “We all have that special someone we are meant to be with for the rest of our lives”.

The idea of having a soulmate is preposterous. Please don’t buy into the B.S. There isn’t one man or woman waiting for you and just you. They don’t exist. What exists are many good options from which you can choose. Think about it for a second; what if “THE ONE” destined for you saw and thought another person was “THE ONE” for them? Does that now mean you’d be left to age and die alone? NO!!! You’d usually see and encounter various good options, and you can pass up many good options and still have many more options. For God’s sake, we’re on a planet with 7 billion people. You must know the qualities you’re looking for in a romantic partner and choose someone from the numerous options life throws your way.

MYTH 2: YOU SHOULD ALWAYS FOLLOW YOUR HEART
