7 WAYS TO AVOID DIVORCE
Today’s topic is centred around the dreaded “D” word. No, not death; the other one. DIVORCE. According to the World Population Review, the country with the highest divorce rate in 2022 is The Republic of Maldives.
Yeah, I was shocked too. I thought it would be the country with 50 stars on its flag, but I was wrong. Ironically, a place where “couples” go for romantic getaways and bonding time has the highest divorce rate globally. This gives you something to think about.
Here is another fun fact that would probably keep you up at night. Almost 50% of first marriages, 60% of second marriages, and 73% of third marriages end in divorce.
In marriage, the high-risk years of divorce are between years 1–2, 5–6, and 7–8. Statistically, divorce happens the most after seven years because both parties (the men and women in the marriage) tend to experience a declining interest in their union. Many things, including sex, become routine and mundane. We like to call this “The 7-year itch” in my field. And boy, do a lot of couples…
