Ah yes! Hook-ups! The name we gave the “loophole” we found as a shallow substitute for genuine intimacy and the responsibility that comes with it, A.K.A. being accountable in a romantic relationship or marriage.

The term “hook-up” means having any form of physical intimacy — usually sexual — with a member of the opposite sex with whom we are not in a romantic relationship or marriage.
