On the 18th of June 2023, the world will be celebrating Father’s Day. If it were up to me, the name would be changed to “Daddies Day” because it accurately describes who the day commemorates.

You may be wondering, “But don’t they mean the same thing?” NO! No, they don’t! Not even in the slightest.

A father is a man who contributes to the physical creation of a baby. All he did was donate a sperm cell that fertilized the ovum in a woman, resulting in pregnancy and the delivery of a baby.

On the other hand, a daddy is a man who provides guidance to his children or household and gives them the absolute fundamental necessities of daily life.

From the definitions I just gave, it is evident that any man can be a father. All it takes for a man to be a father is to have unprotected sex with any fertile woman. A dad or “daddy” is a title given to a man by his kids because he is a source of guidance, leadership, provision and protection for his children and their mother.
